Year 3

Welcome back! We have got a happening term ahead and our students will get heaps of opportunities to have fun filled learning experiences. We had excellent three weeks of learning and students are doing amazingly well in the class.

A peak at our learning this term so far:

Literacy: In Literacy, this term we will be covering Information Reports. The students are learning about the structure, language features and how to research about a particular topic on the internet and put it together in an organised text form. We will also be targeting the ‘skill of compare & contrast’ in reading and various grammar topics as well.

Numeracy: We are learning about fractions and how to order them in ascending and descending order. Students have been fantastic and enjoying doing hands-on activities to consolidate their learning such as making of ‘Fraction kites’.

Science: In Science students have been learning about the three forms of matter i.e. solids, liquids and gases and how are they different from each other.

Art: Students learnt how to make a 3D representation of a 2D shape and the use of shading to show the 3D effect.

PE and Health: Safety in the classroom and on the playground will be our topic of learning in Health this term. Students will also learn about the people who can help them in achieving safe surroundings and how to express themselves assertively.
